47 days, 3900 kms and $2.5 million

Nedd’s run became one of 2022’s biggest feel-good stories.

2022 has been a year of national projects for Rhythm, and the Make Some Noise campaign for CASE Construction Equipment was one of our favourites.

As part of the PR efforts around the campaign, CASE approached us to help with their sponsorship of everyday bloke Nedd Brockmann’s attempt to run across Australia to raise funds for homelessness. At the time, little did we know that Nedd would end up capturing the heart of the nation as the hero in one of the year’s biggest feel-good stories.

As Rhythm got more involved in the project, which included design, digital and video assets to help leverage CASE’s major sponsorship, we realised that this larrikin with the curly mullet was the real deal. His dedication and selflessness felt like the kind of qualities that Rhythm could get behind, so we were more than happy to chip in and help out.

And did the attempt succeed? Well, after 47 gruelling days and 3900km, Nedd ran onto Bondi Beach, where a raucous crowd of thousands cheered him to the finish line. The $2.5m total he raised far exceeded his $1m dollar goal, and there was even a petition circulating to make Nedd a late entrant for Australian of the Year. With mission accomplished, CASE and Rhythm are extremely proud to have helped Nedd make some major noise for homelessness.
