Driving the dream with Daniel Ricciardo

That’s Tourism WA’s aspiration, get people out and experiencing WA’s magical and dreamlike places in their car - Drive the Dream.

The IDEA - who better to showcase a self-drive adventure than WA’s own smiling Formula One driver, Daniel Ricciardo. Adam and his team architected a nine-day 3,000-kilometre journey from Perth to some of WA’s most iconic locations on the Coral Coast Highway. As storytellers, we wanted to capture the authentic, unscripted moments that make road trips special. Our director Adam Rule, and crew worked to be as unobtrusive as possible, allowing the two friends to simply be themselves. The final film shows the two mates reconnecting and enjoying the spontaneous moments of their journey—from singing in the car to teasing each other about their driving skills, all while scoffing strawberries and creams. We made a film that captures the true spirit of adventure.

We crafted a story that successfully captured the best the Coral Coast had to offer: its endless coastlines, unique landscapes, and local characters. Beyond the scenic beauty, the film highlights the deeper meaning of friendship and the joy of disconnecting. The soundtrack, created by a group of talented Western Australian musicians, further enhanced the local flavour. 

Unforgettable road trip - MADE.

The campaign was rolled out domestically and in key international markets.
